At the age of 17 I experienced the life changing, true responsibility of a driver when I got into a traumatic car accident the summer before my senior year of high school in 2007.
With 4 passengers in my car coming home from a late night movie, the combination of distractions and the excessive speed I was traveling caused me to lose control of the car and crash into a tree. To add to all the encounters of my accident, the three passengers in the back were ejected out of the car due to the failure to put on their seatbelts. My boyfriend, Donovan, lost his life that night as a result of poor decision making...from both me and my passengers. We all take that responsibility.
As a driver, passenger, teen, and friend, I have the experience, advice, and thoughts of what it is to be responsible, no matter where you are in the car. Although I'm no "expert" on driving, I'd like to share the thoughts I have as a result of my experience, as well as the thoughts I had before my life changed. My name is Danica and I invite you to join me in my thoughts through life.
